DowCow's Rig

I game mostly on PC, but also occasionally on PS3 and Xbox 360. The entire system is hooked up to a 40inch Samsung TV screen, with the sound coming through a large AV system.

Manufacturer: Built By Myself. I've been into building my own computers since I built my first PC around the age of 16. Before that I tinkered around inside my old Amiga.

Computer Case: Corsair 800D, 3x Sharkoon Silent Eagles exhausting hot air from the top. This case is awesome. It is absolutely huge, but an absolute pleasure to build with.

Power Supply: Corsair AX 750W. Upgraded this to run my new graphics card. If you want to overclock, you need something decent like this.

Processor/HSF: Intel Core i7 930 @ 3.74GHz / Corsair H-50 water cooler with 2 x Akasa Vipers in Push-Pull configuration.

RAM: 6 Gb DDR3 Corsair Dominator GT @ 1700Mhz, 7:8:7:20 at 1T, 1.64V.

Motherboard: Asus P6TD Deluxe

Hard Drives: 120 GB OCZ Vertex2 SSD boot drive,150Gb Western Digital Velociraptor for apps and games. Recently I swapped my 30gb SSD for this 120gb. The 30Gb is now in my PS3. I would never build a desktop machine without an SSD these days.

Removable Storage Drives: Pioneer DVD-RW, Samsung CD-R/RW, Multifunction CF/MS/SD/SM reader.

Video Card: Asus Republic of Gamers Matrix Platinum 580GTX, 831mhz GPU clock, 4038mhz Memory. This is quiet, only overclocked it very slightly and it will go much further.

Monitor: Samsung 40" 1080p TV

Sound Card: ASUS Xonar D2X, analogue 7.1 channels output utilised but I actually bought it for its ability to output into DTS vi spdif... The analogue output sounds better than that to me though.

Speakers/Headphones: Yamaha RX-V2500 AV amplifier + AE Evo3b speakers (center/front/side) + Mission 77DS speakers (rear) + Rel R-305 subwoofer. This is a fantastic rig for home cinema and gaming... It makes the room actually feel like there is a war going on in here.

Microphone: Logitech standmount desktop microphone. Hardly worth mentioning this cruddy black stick of plastic, but it does the job and people can hear me on Teamspeak.

Keyboard: Roccat Arvo, bought because it is compact and not too bad. I prefer Razer peripherals really. This thing wouldn't win any beauty contests.

Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Signature Black Edition (1212 of 1337). I absolutely love this mouse, and admire the Razer company very much. It is great to be a part of their cult and I've made quite a few friends in many countries who feel the same way. I used a Copperhead before, and I won this DeathAdder in a competition where we had to tell the CEO of Razer about owning our first Razer product. The black edition has all the lighting removed and is stripped down to the essentials. It is by far the most comfortable mouse I've used and the easy reach of the thumb button I use for my melee attacks has worked wonders for my knife kills...

Mouse Surface: Razer Vespula. Combined with the mouse, this pair are brilliant together. So long as I keep it clean, which does take a litle effort sometimes, the glide is effortless and the tracking is fantastic. Well recommended.

Other Controllers: Mad Catz 360 controller, Logitech Xtreme 3D Pro joystick. PS3 Controller has added Real Triggers modifications.

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit -I used Ultimate for a while, had no extra features I used so I bought an OEM copy of the Home Edition with a new drive.
